Hector inherited his passion for dog training from his father, who was an AKC certified dog trainer.

Hector’s foundation was as a Shutzhound dog handler and he began competing in AKC Obedience at the age of 13. His education and experience evolved to include hunting, search and rescue, protection, agility, and has continued to grow since inception throughout his life and military career.

Hector’s unique gift is his extraordinary ability to rehabilitate the most fractious of dogs. Hector acquired this talent for understanding what is required for behavioral rehabilitation from personal life experience. He was raised in the foster care system until finally being adopted by his father at 12 years old. It was then Hector’s father introduced him to his first pack of dogs, which healed and transformed his own wounds. Through Hector’s relationship with the dogs and his father’s unconditional love, along with years of rigorously studying Martial Arts like Tai Chi and Krav-maga, and serving in the Army, Hector was rehabilitated himself. This challenging childhood and extraordinary self rehabilitation is what has given him the exceptional wisdom and patience required to earn the trust of abused, frightened, and traumatized dogs, to restore them to be calm and properly socialized.
